Students and Young Professionals: Travel and Work in Canada
Looking for international work experience to start or further your career? Searching for an international internship to fulfill academic requirements? Or simply in need of a funded vacation?
The answer is simple: International Experience Canada (IEC).
Under the IEC Program, students and young professionals – from countries that have a bilateral youth mobility agreement with Canada – can now travel to Canada and gain valuable work experience.
Depending on your country of nationality, you can choose from up to 3 travel and work options:
- Young Professionals: This option is designed particularly for post-secondary students and young professionals looking to start or boost their career. It allows them to acquire professional work experience in their field of expertise (through schooling or work experience) by working on culturally diverse teams, as well as learning new business approaches and languages.
- International Co-op Internship: This option is for students who are enrolled at a post-secondary institution in their home country, and who intend to complete an overseas work placement or internship to fulfill part of their academic curriculum. Students gain valuable Canadian work experience related to their field of study.
- Working Holiday: This option is ideal for individuals who want to visit Canada. It allows them to fund their vacation with temporary work in Canada. It’s a great way to earn money and explore Canada at the same time.
Eligible Countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Ukraine, and United Kingdom.
The number of available spots under the IEC Program is limited, and applications are considered on a first come, first served basis. To find out if you qualify and for help with the application process, contact Azzi Law today!
